Gang Variants

In the Underhive, no two gangs are the same, each one comes with their own allegiances, history, culture, and secrets.

Using this module, gangs can be modified to better suit their place in the world, each variant comes with its own favour table and rules.

Good Standing​

While the gangs of the underhive are given autonomy from their great houses, there are limits to what they will tolerate until they pull out their support and disavow the gang. Certain benefits are only available to gangs in good standing with their house. i.e. House Ogryn

The following gang variants are considered in good standing:

House Gangs​

Complexity: Vanilla
This is a traditional house gang, you’ll get the full support of your house/patron. Pick this one if you don’t want any of this homebrew rubbish.

Gangs of Renown​

Complexity: Low
Want to play a gang with a dramatis personae leading/supporting it? This is the gang for you, otherwise it’s just the same as a House Gang.

Incursion Gangs​

Complexity: Low
Incursion Gangs are led by a Spyre hunter.

Crusading Gangs​

Complexity: Medium-High
Crusading gangs are a gang that is on a holy crusade. Your gang will have a saint which will provide benefits as long as you keep it kosher. These are the same as the ones in the Vaults of Temenos but brought in line with the other variants.

Shunned Gangs​

The following gang variants are considered Shunned

Delegation Gangs​

Complexity: Very High
Delegation gangs are closely tied into a noble house, merchant guild, or criminal organisation. These gangs are more complex to run as your alliance will provide benefits, but expect things in return.

Renegade Gangs​

The following gang variants are considered Renegade

Infected Gangs​

Complexity: Medium
Infected Gangs are gangs that have become infected with the Genestealer Virus.

Corrupted Gangs​

Complexity: High
Corrupted Gangs have pledged their allegiance to the ruinous powers of chaos. Choose a Patron God and gain access to cultists and a special favour table.

Malstrain Gangs​

Complexity: Medium
Malstrain Gangs have been corrupted by the malstrain variant of the Genestealer virus
